These days, many people are choosing to go vegan. But, what exactly does this mean? For many people out there, veganism or going vegan is a concept that can be hard to even start to understand. But, the reality is that veganism is a lot simpler than it seems. Essentially, going vegan means to omit all animal products from one’s diet, as well as to omit all animal products from one’s lifestyle as a whole.

2.Vegans Stay Away From Consuming All Types Of Dairy, Eggs, Etc.
Another main aspect of veganism, which is different than with vegetarianism is that vegans do not consume any type of animal products whatsoever. Animal products that are not allowed include eggs, dairy (including cheese and milk), gelatin, and honey. While vegetarians do not consume any type of meat, chicken, fish, or pork product, vegans take it a step further and don’t consume any type of animal product whatsoever.
3.Vegans Often Fill Their Diet With Whole Grains And Nuts
One of the main ways that vegans get their vitamins and nutrients (protein!) is by filling up on whole grains and nuts. Whole grains such as quinoa, barley, beans, and nuts are one of the main staples of the vegan diet. And, there is no doubt that consuming these types of foods are not only healthy but are also densely packed with nutrients. Many vegans do not choose to become vegan merely for the altruistic part of the lifestyle, but for the health benefits as well that naturally come about due to the consumption of so many different types of nutritious foods.
4.Vegans Love To Eat Avocados
While strictly speaking, vegans are allowed to consume sugar, chocolate without milk, vegan cookies, vegan cakes, and other “junk” vegan foods, the reality is that avocados are truly the easiest ways for a vegan to really indulge. Avocados are not only delicious, but they also pack a whole lot of heart-healthy fats into one tasty little fruit. Another benefit of avocados is that they are also extremely versatile, and can be used in many different vegan recipes and dishes.
5.Vegans Don’t Wear Leather, Suede, or Fur
While veganism has a whole lot to do with not consuming animal products and the vegan diet as a whole, the reality is that vegans also make sure to stay away from wearing any type of animal skin or fur. This means that they don’t buy or use products made of leather, suede, and for some vegans, down, sheepskin, and wool. Many vegans see wearing leather or suede as animal abuse and refuse to support the harming of animals in any way, shape, or form.
